Can't wait for "Book 2 Stairway to Heaven" to come in the mail. What's intriguing is when I asked those questions, such as "Who are the Nephilim." I was either shut down or given very vague answers. Zecharia Sitchin referenced the Bible a lot in this book. Read it with an open mind and you won't be the same. The material is presented in a way not to convince the reader, but to inform you of information that goes untouched by many scientists.
My suggestion is to have your Bible handy, trust me you'll need. I can honestly say that some of the text in the Bible that have left me puzzled for years, was answered after reading it. I am a believer, and this book has increased my belief in God greatly. The 12th Planet is one of the best books I have ever read. I recommend that you read the Bible along with The 12th Planet.
This book is extraordinary.
Sitchin is not an author: he's a cash-cow genius. Put better, it is using the unknowable and indefensible to explain the inexplicable.Good way not to use one's brains at all.I myself am one of those who has always been disgusted with science when it shows its unimaginative, unobservant face. Isn't all this questioning and curiosity also seen in other highly intelligent creatures. I have since grown up, and do not agree with anything to do with extraterrestrial stupidities. What I can never abide as an anthropologist is all this dreaming of extraterrestrial life "seeding us" here, as if this planet--or we ourselves--were so special. What Von Daniken and Sitchin like to do is make money trying to distract us: they the ridiculous to explain the unknown.
That we are Star People. Yet I must bow most deeply to it as a body and as a discipline, as much I would object loudly to any maniac who uses "aliens" to sell books. Can we not have accomplished what we did all on our own. Sitchin makes millions off his books with gullible buyers, while good folk like Elaine Morgan drown in hatred, mockery and stupidity. Is it all made so much more special by coming from a distant, mythical planet. (Elaine Morgan, creator of the "aquatic ape" theory of evolution--look her up, worth the study).Do yourselves a favor, and get genuine historical reading. Message. This particular book, a clear little cog in a giant money-making machine, is tiresome in many ways I am sorry to say.
He's so good, I actually thought he was on to something many decades ago. Or simple ape upgrades.Everything Sitchin has ever written bears a striking resemblance to the questions of Erich Von Daniken: it can all be easily explained with what we know and have theorized within mainstream science. Try to find useful ways of understanding how humankind came to be, and comes to fit into this world.Honestly, snake oil salesmen just keep proliferating like 12th-planet alien hybrid weirdos by the minute. Study these things for yourselves, not just one crazy person's ideas about a mythical "12th planet" (if he knew what he was talking about, he'd have known that it would have been the 15th planet at least). OK, the gloves come off: Sitchin is a man I can NEVER respect on any level. Seen in another light, it seems we truly are "the scum of the earth". Isn't possible we just arose from some brand of monkey and that's it.
It was very thought provoking. This was a very interesting read for me. It's worth your money.
I will not give details, because I feel each that search, have their own reasons. However more forensic evidence here then in the Bible. But hand in hand, for me, explained, answered, some of my questions. Thank you for reading my review.wvpywacket
Well neither do I nor does the author. If you know VanDaniken and like his "Chariots of the Gods". Big bang, God, Science, Orion, Zecharia Sitchin. The biggest eye opener for me is the relationship between this book and the bible. Back in 1973. Then your gonna love this. One no greater then the other. And the questions that propell that search.
I reccommend all of this authors books on the origin of human, and this rock we call home, the third planet, and our future. I first came upon this book in an old shop in CA. And all of the series. Don't know the answer.
Sitchin provides an interesting bibliography at the end of the book for anyone wanting to dig around the library or internet too. Also, a great book for anyone who enjoys learning about history. I really enjoyed this book. I am an open minded individual who likes to consider ALL of the options. Fascinating stuff.
